It’s Monday morning, and the Elcocks had a fun weekend! Friday night, Jana and I watched Disney’s “The Kid” after the kids were in bed (well, actually I watched it while Jana dozed in and out of sleep). It’s a great little movie that reminded me to live a little more spontaneously and have a little more fun. I recommend it, especially for folks who tend to behave kind of uptight like me.Saturday morning while Jana was at the gym, the girls woke up around 6 AM and we went to get donuts from Dunkin Donuts (Jana’s favorite). That made for a fun morning. We did some yard work among other things during the day. In the evening, our neighborhood had the annual “April in the Park” party and dinner. The girls got to play games and play on the “Tumblebus”, which is basically a travelling schoolbus converted into a little gym - sort of a combo playground and gymnasium. They loved it. Probably a few hundred people showed up for the party - it’s a good gig.
Sunday we got up and went to church. Anna is now so excited to go to her nursery class that she started talking about it Saturday night. She also assumes during Sacrament meeting that every time someone says “Amen”, like at the end of a talk, that it indicates she is about to go to class. Here’s a play-by-play sample:
Speaker: “Amen”.
Anna: “Amen. YAY! Go to class!”
Mom/Dad: “Not yet, Annie. You’ll go to class in a few more minutes.”
Her response to that started out as “OK”, but after 2 or 3 times, she was getting little more agitated. Anyway, it was a good day at church. Eliza is in Sunbeams now and she loves going to sing the songs. We had some great naps in the afternoon (one of the perks available when you go to church at 8:30 AM), then we went to Grandpa Brimley’s house for dinner with Jana’s family.
Thanks to our (few and proud) faithful readers. Hope everyone has a great week!
